✨ Becoming: How AI Twins Capture Who We’re Working to Be

Beyond Replication to Transformation

“AI twins don’t just capture who we’ve been. They mirror who we’re becoming.”

Becoming

AI twins started with appearance, then evolved to capture expertise. But now I’m realizing: they aren’t just for capturing who we’ve been. They’re for capturing who we’re working to become.

Inspired by new client work, I’m seeing how we can encode transformation in real time. When the real person lapses under pressure, their twin doesn’t. The person they’re becoming shows up consistently.

The temptation is, of course, to skip the hard work. To instantly appear different without earning it. But if you don’t do the real, human work, the twin reveals a lie.

AI twins don’t shortcut the work. They scale the self you’re actualizing.

Insights from the AI Powered Women Summit

At the recent AI Powered Women Summit at MIT this month, I shared some reflections that build on this idea.

If there’s no defined problem, AI is not the answer. A principle that runs especially true for AI twins.

A twin isn’t built to be a novelty. It’s built to scale wisdom across an organization: capturing a leader’s judgment, style, and institutional knowledge so it can circulate — and giving that leader back the time and space to generate new wisdom.

Because the real opportunity with AI isn’t more output. It’s creating the conditions for reflection, for ideas to percolate, and for participatory knowing — the kind of embodied, contextual learning only humans can do.

To be effective, twins need three things: factuality to ground their knowledge, personality to carry the way someone communicates, and safety to stay within purpose.

The question is less what can AI do for us? and more what will we do with the space it creates?

Artist and the Machine Summit

I’m also thrilled to share that I’ve officially joined Artist and the Machine, a summit dedicated to exploring how art and AI intersect to shape who we’re becoming.

We’ve just announced our first speakers and sponsors (check our socials)! and the momentum is seriously building…
